Privacy policy

1. Who we are

TabMinder ("we", "us") is a Chrome extension and website made by MyBrowserTools. You can reach us at tabminder@mybrowsertools.com. This policy explains what the TabMinder extension and this website (tabminder.mybrowsertools.com) collect, why, and the choices you have.

2. Information stored in your browser

To do its job, TabMinder keeps the following on your computer:

• Reminders: the address (URL), title and icon of each tab you choose to be reminded about, the reminder time, your note and repeat settings.
• History of past reminders, and usage statistics calculated on your computer.
• Settings such as theme, quick times and sounds. Some settings may be copied between your own Chrome browsers by Chrome Sync, if you use it, under Google's privacy policy.

TabMinder only reads a tab's title and address when you ask it to set a reminder for that tab. It does not read page content, does not run on the web pages you visit, and does not keep a record of your browsing.

3. Information sent to our servers

For every installation

To provide the free Pro preview and protect it from misuse, the extension exchanges a small amount of technical information with our servers, such as a random identifier created by the extension and basic connection information (like a pseudonymized form of your IP address). This information does not include your reminders and is not used to identify you personally or track you.

If you create an account

Creating an account is optional during the free preview. If you do, we process:

• Your email address, to identify your account and send one-time sign-in codes.
• Sign-in and device information needed to keep you securely signed in and to let you manage your signed-in devices.
• Plan information, such as your trial and subscription status.
• Cloud backup (Pro and trial accounts): a copy of your reminders, history and settings, including tab addresses, titles and notes, so you can restore them on another computer.

4. Payments

Subscriptions are sold through our payment processor, Payhip, which handles your payment details. We never see or store your card number. We receive basic order information (such as your checkout email, the plan purchased and its status) so we can activate Pro on your account.

5. This website

• Contact form: your name, email address and message, which we use only to reply to you. We send a one-time code to your email to confirm the message is from you.
• Newsletter: if you subscribe, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.
• Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs for security and reliability.
• Fonts: this website loads fonts from Google Fonts.

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

6. How we use information

• To show your reminders and notifications at the right time.
• To provide the free preview, trial and Pro features.
• To sign you in, and to back up and restore your reminders.
• To answer support messages and, if you subscribed, send product updates.
• To keep TabMinder secure and prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles of your browsing, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

7. Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run TabMinder, and only as needed for that purpose:

• cloud hosting and database providers;
• email delivery providers;
• our payment processor (Payhip);
• website hosting.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves. If TabMinder is ever sold or merged, we will tell users before their information is transferred.

8. How long we keep information

• In your browser: until you delete it, use Clear All Data, or uninstall TabMinder.
• Account and cloud backup: for as long as your account exists. Clear All Data in the extension also removes your cloud backup.
• Technical and security information: only as long as needed to run the service and prevent misuse.
• Payment records: as long as required for accounting and legal obligations.
• Support messages and newsletter: until your request is resolved, or until you unsubscribe.

9. Your choices and rights

• See your data: your reminders and history are visible in the extension at any time.
• Export: Pro users can export their reminders, history and settings from the extension.
• Delete: use Settings → Clear All Data to erase your reminders and history (including your cloud backup, if you have one), or uninstall the extension.
• Delete your account: email us from your account address and we'll delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
• Stop emails: unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, or to object to how it's used. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure storage of sign-in credentials, and we limit who can access it. No system is completely secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.

11. International processing

Our service providers operate in several countries, so your information may be processed outside your own country, with appropriate safeguards in place.

12. Children

TabMinder is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

13. Chrome Web Store user data policy

TabMinder's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use information only to provide and improve TabMinder's single purpose: reminding you about the tabs you choose.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll also let you know in the extension or by email if you have an account.
